Default Infinity 62.7 crossover

I just got my 62.7's and I'm going to install them in the doors ASAP. Do i need to use the supplied crossover? It looks like no, since there is wiring for the woofer and tweeter. So basically; crossover or wire directly to tweeter and woofer connections on the speaker.

No, you always have to use the crossover that comes with a component set. Every component set has its own crossover designed to work with that system.

Alright if i am supposed to use the crossover could someone briefly explain how i wire the + and - for both tweeter and woofer into the crossover. Sorry for being so meticulous, just that these were a birthday present and i dont want to take any chances.

What do you plan to power them with? factory amp? -choose one set of wires then at the doors, probably the set that runs to the woofer... it will be underpowered by a good amount though, so if you have and aftermarket HU - use that....even then, not as much power as you would LIKE to have... Amping them separately is by far the best option, IMO.

hmm.....I was under the impression the tweeters "crossover" in the stock setup was simply the capacitor at the tweeter itself...

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4296.html#

I thought 62.7i's were 2 way coaxial type speakers...but they supply crossovers? I'm kinda confused...

Either way, you use what they come with, not what the car already has.

There's a lot of misinformation in that thread (that whole site actually). For example, the tweeters aren't "high impedance" - they're 4-ohm. And, as fredmr39 said, the crossover for the tweeter is on the tweeter...the amp sends an unfiltered full-range signal to them.
