Default Headunit

Post some pictures of your headunits.

I'm looking for the cleanest... closest to "stock" looking headunit fitment. Something that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, and looks rather... clean.

Thanks guys!

Pioneer DEH-P47DH, Pioneer deh-p75dh, Audioxox/Phase Linear UMP8015, Rampage ACD75, Audiovox Prestige P105, JENSEN CD615X (although I think the Jenson and the Audiovox are the same unit with different names on them. That's just a list I compiled in about 5 min. from a simple search. The only decent ones are the 2 Pioneer's. So unfortunately it's not that "schweet"!! LOL!! I wouldn't put any of these in my car with the exception of maybe one of the Pioneer units.

Haha, I trademarked that word man.

Think It would be worth it, look cleaner to put the 1.5 din units in?

The Camaro stock is 1.5 right?

The opening is a 1.5 DIN yes, but unfortunately only 2 good ones are left and for the money you could do alot better as far as playback options (mp3/WMA/etc.), RCA outputs/voltage, display features, wattage, sound quality, etc. HU mount makes a nice single DIN adapter that doesn't look cheesy and can be made to order. Also the unit I have JVC EXAD avx1 fits a 1 DIN opening but looks bigger and fills the opening nicely. I'd look around alot at other options. Just wish more companies made a 1.5 DIN HU that had some better features!!

I actually prefer it to be offset out a bit. I don't like the look of it when it's flush, tucked in or pushed out too far.

That Premier HU rocks!!! One of the nicest ones out there!! Most of the double din set ups I've seen have all been camaros!! Funny thing is I'd think it would be easier to do a firebird/T/A because it has a smaller surround with a fairly rectangular shape. HU mounts are easily one of the nicest and easiest ways to do a single din unit. I think because it doesn't look like it's just filling in a hole.

I think I'm just going to get an ipod and the ipod2car adapter for my '00 T/A. I can control it with the factory steering wheels and the only thing I'll lack is track info/HD Radio. I can get both for around $200 and install it myself, so it's not a bad deal. Plus, the car will look factory and I'll just hide the ipod in the armrest.

I'm just tired of swapping cd's in and out.
