For around the $200.00 range I would go with the new premier dehp490.I am a huge alpine fan,but the 490 has a lot to offer in the $200.00 range. Overall in your poll for the best radios I picked alpine. If money was no object it is very hard to beat an alpine F#1 set-up.

I never liked the look of Alpines, or their lasers. Alpines never did well with scratched discs, where as you can roll a CD through a mixture of dirt, rocks, nails, and broken bottles, pick it up, wipe it off, and my Pioneer will play it

I don't know what Alpine HU's or lasers you're talking about. Maybe the one you bought in Mexico spelled Elpine.
People do sell High -end Alpine on ebay that's what i was referring to. Not the low -end **** at BB or CC. 
P. S. High-end Alpine system debuts in Land Rover.

Im certainly biased, but of the above mentioned - Pioneer. Without the above mentioned Eclipse.
