Reception!

I've never gotten good reception out of my Camaro. With my stock stereo I never got very good and even with my Alpine I can't pick up much. Whats the deal? is there a easy way to increase my reception???

P.S. I'm looking for a power antenna.

Reception is a factor of where you live and the antenna your using....not the radio itself....

radio waves are typically line of site..ie straight lines..if you live in a hilly area your reception is going to be problematic

Power antennas are great at cleaning up the lines of your car..Ive seen signal boosters but again I think your going to have limited success in a hilly area

I can't get reception anywhere really. And the cb anteanna puts too much stress on the spoiler and cracks everytime...

Wrong. Radio is also a big factor. Not quite as big a factor as the antenna, but still a big factor.

You may want to check your wiring from the stereo to the antenna, you may have a short or badly fraid wires. Also if you have an aftermarket system with an amplifier or subs, make sure your not running any power wires within 6 to 12 inches of the antenna wire because it'll pick up alot of interference. A quick test to see if the amp/sub is the problem if you have it is to just get under the hood and unhook the power wire for the amp or pull the fuse if you have an inline fuse for it to see if the interferance goes away.
