Sail panel (next to the rear seat) or hatch area? Title says one...text says the other.

Most of the replies you'll get here will be something like "don't bother" because those hatch speakers only provide rear fill (and not much of that). However, they are inexpensive and easy to replace so why not? In a Camaro the hatch speakers are 4" full-range that cost $45 each from the dealer (about half that online) - part number 16217731. You can get a pair of 4" coax speakers for $60 or less just about anywhere (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.).

This is one of those cases where spending more money won't get better sound so just put in something affordable.

How many wattage should I be getting when I buy them?

I'm using Infinity References back there... but you honestly can't hear the difference when I shut them off... I wouldn't bother.

Just about anything you find will handle it. I don't have exact specs for the power sent to those speakers by the Monsoon amp but it probably isn't more than 15-20 watts.

Unless you're amping components up front..you should notice a difference -- at least I do.

I added some Kenwoods and sounded like crap...too much power for them to handle back there. I went with 4 infinity 62.7i's(in doors and sailpanel), sound great now and simple replacement. If anything the highs are too much now. I used my hu EQ and fine adjustments on my kenwood hu to adjust cutoffs and sounds great. The stock monsoon amp really can sound good believe it or not and I am always getting people to sit in my car to prove it, with the 4 infinity speakers and the 2 10 inch subs, I am very happy now with the setup. The 62.7i's connect in the doors just like stock, no mods or crossover needed. The sailpanel fit just like stock also, but GM has a stupid square cut out that the factory speaker covers with carboard, so I used some sound deadening to plug the hole. I also put a couple feet of sound deadening behind the speaker to get better bass with no rattle. This is for camaro's, pontiacs don't have the 2 ohm speakers back there.
