Default Sirius Install Help

I am going to install a Sirius Satellite radio on a Scion xB and was curious to know if cars stock antenna is sufficient or will I need to put in the Satellite antenna too (it came with the sirius kit).

The car is suposed to be "Satellite Ready".

Thanks

You def need the Sirius antenna, put it just above the back window in the center and run the wire down thru the weatherstripping in the hatch....

I suppose you could try the stock one but i just dunno

Satellite radio needs a satellite antenna. The stock antenna will not work. Typically what they mean by "satellite ready" is that you can buy their transceiver and antenna to connect to the stock radio.

I'm a bit confused on your wording though. Did you say that the car already came equipped with Sirius and its just not activated, or was it an option that you did not buy. If the car already has Sirius installed, you can just activate it instead of buying more equipment.

My brothers Trailblazer SS has Sirius. It was satellite ready and works fine without any other antenna. Might depend on the make of the car?

GM's don't come with sirius, it may be a sirius tuner in there, but it is aftermarket....just an fyi

btw, i have done about 100 Xb installs (my shop does all the scion cars with video's, nav, and satalite radio for a local dealership) If you have the little AUX input near the ebrake, don't use that. You will pick up much road noise. (unless you put an isolator on it) Just go buy the sirius FM relay, or get a dedicated tuner

In that case, the antenna is already installed in there somewhere.
