SES and low coolant lights not working???
#2
well, as far as coolant, that should be checked anyways. My Low coolant light comes on every now and then, EVEN though my coolant is full. Im guessing he was sick of the light coming on and off due ot a bad sensor.

I wouldn't worry about the low coolant light, GM took them off our cars starting in '00. Maybe the sensor went bad and they just unplugged the wire connector to keep the light off. Easy to check, it's a few inches below the radiator cap. If it's unplugged replacing the sensor and reconnecting it will get it operating again. Don't know what to tell you about the SES light, might just be the bulb. Something you could try if you still have the AIR system is pull the AIR PUMP fuse for a few cold ignitiion cycles, that should set a code (mine throws P0412) and turn the light on. Won't hurt anything and will reset itself after replacing the fuse and a few cycles. I'll thumb through my helms and see what it says about the SES not coming on.

Well the chart doesn't mention a bulb, but says to check the fuse first (doesn't say which one unfortunately). After that talks about checking the instrument panel cluster, etc. with a scan tool. Don't know why anyone would disable the light - but if I was going to do it the easiest way I see is maybe just cut the MIL control wire at the PCM. On my car it's the BRN/WHT wire on the C2 Red connector, pin #46. Not sure if yours is the same but can post a link to the pin outs for your year if you post it. Hope this helps...

Didn't post your year, but if you have the low coolant sensor must be a 98 or 99.
