First off, here is the schematic of equipment used. The car has also now been fully deadened with Dynamat Extreme.

Here are a couple shots of the front separates and head unit. The head unit really blends in well, better in person than in the photos. At first glance if one didn't know GM radios it could appear as a stock unit. The fit is perfect which is the main reason I went with this Pioneer.

Here are the dual JL 6W0 6.5" subs mounted in the rear seat pillars in custom made sealed fiberglass enclosures. I swear that if you heard this system you would have no idea that there wasn't a 10 or 12 inch woofer hiding somewhere. These drivers have no problem pressurizing my cabin. I did not expect these to hit as hard as they do.

Here is the back of the car. As you can see I lost very little space. The Pioneer 12 disk changer is where the factory changer is and the only added mass is the Alpine amp but it is in a spot that doesn't intrude at all. I can still carry all my luggage, stow my T-Tops, whatever I want. It's exactly what I wanted with this install. My spare tire, jack and tool kit is fully in tact. You can also see the grills for my 4" rear fill midranges. The sound is terrific but it does need final tuning yet. I'm very pleased! Thanks for looking.

Absolutely. Adding in a sub later is easy if you don't have enough bass for your liking.
But I can't stress how important it is to seal those 6'5" subs in an enclosure. If they are mounted in a free air set up the sound will be awful and I bet they would burn out quickly.

I like the Resolution speakers very much. I've been an MB Quart guy for years but I decided to try something else this time around and I'm glad I did. They are excellent speakers with a tremendously detailed sound stage. I've never noticed physical instrument placement with such detail before. They did a great job.
Those mounting brackets were in my car from the factory. It's what the factory 6.5" drivers were attached to. I couldn't imagine how the OEM speakers would be installed if that piece weren't there.

Would this work for an enclosure instead for the fiber glass.

I am not to big on fiberglassing the car. Is the fiber glass enclosure removable without any visible damage, if you wished to remove it somewhere down the road?

Those aren't hard, they are flexible, so they aren't really a speaker enclosure at all but you could probably fiberglass them to make them hard. But I would also bet they are too deep and won't fit anyway. Not much room back there because of a metal brace that runs up behind the speaker. I could probably get all this fiberglass out if I wanted too. Not sure how easy it would be but it would come out.

The black rings were there already, I did not add them.
I purchased the 6W0 subs from an ebay auction.
I'm not sure how deep the 6W0 speakers are but they fit just barely. The magnet does touch the back a little.

I was wrong. Sorry. I had my door panels off and they are definitely not factory pieces. With the speaker off they look homemade and cheap. I didn't pay attention when I was installing them. I had my front speakers replaced before on this car, a totally different set, and I think the installer made them at that time. Looks like he just cut them from plastic.
Is there a quality set available? I would like to replace these now that I took a good look at them.
