Default Will a 12" Fit?

Ok so a friend of mine picked up a 12" for his RSX but now changed his mind and says he wants a 10". He said he would sell it to me for dirt cheap. The sub comes with a box already. Its a Pioneer 800W sub The box isn't to big and I can always make a new box if I have to. My question is... Will a 12" sub fit in the back left of the car. I already have the head unit and would just need to pick up an amp.

So here are the questions:
1. Will a 12" fit in the back nicely?
2. What kind of amp should I get?
3. Where are you guys mounting your amps and how?

-I was originally thinking about a 10" too because I'm not crazy about a lot of bass but decided if this would work I'll put this in and turn down the sub volume.

If it isn't exactly what you want, I'd keep looking. Pioneers aren't really good subs unless they're the high end ones. But yes, you can make a 12" fit in a stealth box. I've seen some amp racks on www.subthump.com that go right in the back in the middle. As far as amps go, there are tons of choices out there for brands, but don't cheap out on the amp. If you have a SVC sub, probably a 2-channel amp would be good, but if it's a DVC sub, probably a mono amp would be better. As far as good brands, everyone has their favorites, but some of mine are: MTX, Kicker, Elevation, Alpine, and JL. I know there are many other good ones, but there's a few.

youll need to make a box that fits in the cubby hole, a prebuilt wont fit in there. I put a 12" in there, so it can be done. Im not sure i would go through the effort for a pioneer sub though.

theres a large selection of amps out there. first thing you need to do is finalize the sub you want, then give us the specs and the amount you want to spend,a nd include if that includes install or not.

2 channel or mono amp, doesnt matter. monos will more than likely be more efficient (class D) versus the 2-channel (class A/B).

Here is the sub I have from him. It comes with a box already and I was think about just mounting it on the "deck" of the car, in the back, underneath the hatch. Will this look alright? Do you guys have any pictures of this? Just curious as to how it looks.

I had two subs under the hatch behind the rear seats in my 3rd gen.. Only problem you may have with that is it might block your vision seeing out of the back window. You need to see how it fits and see if you like it.. one random box there might look weird. I'd make the subthump box a 12" if I were you, IMO

You have not have enough airspace for a 12" in that spot.

Why a new one? I'm not crazy about lots of thumping so 150RMS doesn't really bother me.

Trust me, I though 200 Rms would be enough. Now I have 600rms and am always looking for ways to improve my system. Having a little breathing room for when you want to go bigger is always better.

Candela: Do you know that for a fact that there is not enough air space back there or are you just guessing?

Also for the price of the sub I doubt I'm going to get another one. I'll use this until it stops working or I want to change it.
