And damn it sounds great. Stock everything else (including headunit) and those thing can still hit some serious bass alone. Now this is one speaker I must say is worth $150 dollars.
But, Jesus, was taking the door panel off a pain in the ***.
Can't wait till I get the rest of my stuff in the mail!!

I'm glad to hear happy with the end results of your labor.
R.F. makes some good stuff, I've just always seemed to find something I liked better.
Yeah...lol..lol.., the door panels are a real pain in the A$$ the first time! Did you put some sound deadening in your doors while you had your panels off ?

Would sound deadening help enough to be noticeable?

IMO, yes. I put most of it inside the door ,2 layers(on the outer skin), 2 layers on the floor, and 2 layers above the headliner , 2 layers all most everywhere.
Headliner, doors, floors, spare-tire/ storage area, and under the dash pad. In that order made the biggest difference to me; IMO.
If your interested in knowing more about sound deadening, this site has some good info! http://sounddeadenershowdown.com/

I was considering deadening my trunk when I get my 6x9's. Wasn't sure about doing the entire car due to the weight (heard the material can get pretty damn heavy).

I only deal with rockford and pioneer when it comes to component speakers for the doors and such.
IMO pioneer has the best bang for the buck component speakers. 3 ways for like 80 bucks a pair and down and to me they have just about the best clarity you can get in entry level speakers.
I don't do big sound systems so I could careless about competition stuff. I am looking to put a stealth box in my car and one 10". I usually go midrange in price. I'm not gonna buy the 20 10" sub at checkers auto. lol

But for Rockford's best full range, I got mine for 90 a piece (2 sets 180). And Pioneer is pretty good as well.
I plan on getting some Infinity 6x9's (or 5x7's, can't really decide) for the rear to complete it.
