Default 6x9s in the trunk?

what would it take to make 6x9s fit in the 2 spots in the trunk? the previous owner was a dumbshit and one speaker is missing and the other ones disconnected and the wire to hook it up in no where in sight so...im going to be replacing all the speakers in my car with some nice stuff and want to fit some 6x9s in the back.

I asked the same thing. Prepare to get raped on oval speakers being inferior sound quality.

I'm doing 5x7's and you CAN fit a 10" sub back there with a stealth box.

I have a killer deal on some CDT 5x7's. Let me know if your interested. I also sell stealth enclosures, loaded and unloaded and can put together a bass package that includes amp, enclosure, sub, and wiring kit.

I stuck either 6x8 or 6x9 (I forget which) back there. They just fit under the stock grills so it looks stock but sure sounds much better than stock... but then, anything sounds better than half blown stockers

Yep, I try to put it all together as one thing to make it convenient and compatible as far as the stealth box goes. It adds much better bass. If that's what your looking for that is definetley the way to add good bass without taking up your T-top area.

You actually got them to fit back there?

Yep I did. Took a while trimming and fiddling but they went in, and like I said, stock grills fit over them so you can't even tell at first glance.

Hit nice, good SQ? Would it be enough to make up for a sub?

Depends on what kind of sound you are going for. If you want really big bass, then no. But for me, between those in the back and the two sail panel subs there is enough bass for me

I can take pics of what I did to shoehorn them in there, be back shortly...

Here are some pics of what I did. You can see the screws peeking out a little bit from under the grill. I had to cut off some of the tabs that hold the grill on, and trim it a bit to let the screwheads fit, but I think it came out OK. Those are just some basic Pioneer 2 way 6x8 speakers but they sound pretty good. Driven with the stock 2-ohm amp, but even with the mismatched 2-ohm 4-ohm setup it does pretty well. I used the stock plug from the old speakers so that the panel is easy to remove totally if needed and keeps from hacking up the original wiring too much.

It looks like there is room for 6x9 perhaps. I used the 6x8 because that is what had already.

You'll have to cut in order to fit anything but stock size back there.
