Default Duplicolor FTW (engine bay)

So.... I post here often and give folks advice on how to clean up under the hoods of their F-bodies and don't have one of my own. I did this before on my old TA but that's a long sad story.

Any way now I have another one to tinker with and here's what I did so far. There is much more to come so stay tuned. Enjoy.

lookin alot better already...
whats next?

may i suggest painting the lid/base black and clearcoat really helps it pop. go after the engine bay with some simple green and tire shine...and also paint and clear the wiper cowl and that will get you off to a great start.

Yes. I had to weld up the dozen or so holes first, then bondo, filler prime, wet sand, paint black, then emerald green, then dust lighly with aqua metallic and then clear. I plan on doing the core support soon and then on to the engine. Thanks for the copliment.

dude, you're my inspiration. the only reason i never did the wire mod was because i knew if i did i'd want to fill all the holes and repaint it all, but i was shaky about it. now i feel like i might just try it out.

Am i missing something? WHy on earth would you want your engine bay a completely separate color from the rest of your car? Is it going to tie in later? Because if your cars one color, and then bam under hood i another, i have to say its going to look like you got a hella cheap paint job where they didnt match anything. Like so many honda owners i know. I lOVE what you did with the !wire etc, its hella cleaner, i just don't get where you're coming from with the whole mis-matched paint idea. Its a VERY nice color, i just don't know why you would want different colors on different parts of your car.

^check the 3rd picture down. you can see the exterior color of the car. even though the car looks a little dirty, the colors seem to be pretty close to me. were you thinking it was the silver car in his sig? if so, i was thinking the same thing at first, till i saw the 3rd pic

I did some more work today on the core support and all the light brackets. It took me at least 4 hours to do this but I think the outcome is well worth it. Enjoy.

I ordered some Taylor wires to relocate my coils but ran into an issue. I have truck coils. So after a few tries here's what I came up with. Enjoy.

Got it taken care of tonight. I did them in the flat black the brackets are done in. I'll make sure to get a wide angle shot once I do up my new valve covers this coming week.

On that note, what color do you guys think I should do the new covers? I really don't care for the green, it seems there is too much in there already. I also need to get an LS6 intake, smooth it and paint it as well. Give me ideas on the intake and valve covers.
