Angry Need Some Advice

Well i have a 2000 ss, i get some weird vibrations at around 2000rpms, mostly noticeable in 3rd gear, I took it to my near by dealership which i regret, i have a warranty thats the only reason i went there, they looked at it and thought it was the tranny or tc and they dont have a transmission tech there so they sent it off to get worked on, well today i find out that there was nothing wrong with the tranny. So tomm there going to look at it again and see if they can figure it out. If anyone has any ideas what it is it would help alot because it doesnt seem like they know what there doing. (I mentioned it might be a tranny mount to them but they didnt check that)

How long have you had your magnaflow? Maybe it's just the exhaust resonating.

Its not the whole magnaflow catback, its just the muffler, its probably been on for about a year or more. Im thinking its not the exhaust though, The dealer took it apart again today and took off the starter and then took off the TC and they said it doesnt vibrate then.(I didnt quite understand that part,Im only 17 though so dont make fun of me.lol) So they sent it off to another tranny place because they are sure its a weight off in the TC, i just wish they would buy me a Vig 3200 and test and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for the help

I had some vibrations - like you, especially in third about 2100-2200 rpms - that I've noticed are gone since my TCI was installed ... indicating that your dealer may be right and it's the TC.

They removed the starter and the TC, and told you it doesn't vibrate then. WTF??

1. How the f*** did they start the car?
2. Did they replace all your tranny fluid when it all spilled out of the bellhousing from not having a TC in there?

Maybe I'm a dumbass, but that explanation doesn't make any sense. Are you saying they replaced your TC with another one laying around?

They said something about them doing something with the starter and then it they said it stopped vibrating, so it is either the TC, Tranny, or something in the motor, I personally think it is the flexplate or TC now, but well see what these guys can figure out around here. They have had my car at 2 different places now and havent done anything really, havent had my car for over a week now. Im not very happy witht them.

Remove bellhousing from trans and bolt to motor. Hook up trs sensor and your good to go.

Could be something as simple and stupid as a lost
wheel balancing weight, or a tire with a heavy nail
in it. Something that occurs at only one road speed
indicates tailshaft-back, while finding it at the same
RPM in two different gears means something tranny-
forward.

Sitting in park reving it up to 2000rpms it vibrate, so its not any road things. So it is something internal.

If it vibrates in park then it could be a missed balanced convertor.
