You will be fine. I am running a SS4000 and 3.73 and dead hook everytime. Of course, the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials are a big help. With any higher stall TC, you will need drag radials to take full advantage of the stall/gears. Going from a 2.73 to a 3.73 will be nice and will feel much better.

not if you're running street tires. you probably wont even hook with cold drag radials. having 18's makes it hella hard to find good sticky tires too. i wouldnt count on hooking at wot in first gear, and second will be iffy at times.

I couldn't hook with street tires (Eagle F1s or GS-D3s), that converter
and 3.23s. 3.42s is marginally worse not to mention power upgrades.
Better find yourself some top shelf rubber.

I've hooked shitty Sumitumo 275/40/17's on a cold track to a 1.775 60' with a TCI SSF 4000 and Precision 3.73's. It's what screwed my axle.
I think you'll be plenty fine on a MT Drag Radial. I've cut 1.6x's not even trying on those.
A lot of it depends on launch technique/track conditions. When the track's shitty, stall or not, you can forget about hooking.

to the op with that smaller stall you should be able to get a decent launch on good street tires....when i had 3.73s only i couldnt leave at wot...you have to find that sweet spot that works best.......that setup should be a blast compared to what you have....
