Default Torque converter

How much difference will a 2600 Stall make on my daily driving? What exactly does it do? I thought it just made the converter slip until it hit that RPM.. Is that right? Any help would be great. thanks.

IMO, a 2600 isn't even worth the trouble of swapping....at least get something in the 3000 range.

the sticky that jetlag posted will answer all those questions..

Here is a vid of a bit of driving in traffic in the winter on wet roads with a vig 3600 stall (acts and works more like a 4000 stall though). I drive the car daily in the snow and all. good vid because you can see the tach, spedo, and traffic or a good comparison.

Yeah, with a cam/heads, definitely get something bigger than a 2600.

I love my Yank SS3600 with 3.73 gears...feels real tight and drives like stock...but helped a lot.

I went with a 3000 stall and it made a big difference at the track and I was used to it after 1 day on the street. Now I added my cam and it feels like the stall is gone. Definately could have gone 3200 or 3600 and stayed just as streetable.

Yeah go bigger than 2600 for sure. I'll prolly be going with a 3200 in a stock LT1. if you buy a 2600 now and do h/c you be kicking yourself in the ***. cause you will be out another 5-700 and have to go through the pain of pulling the trans again!

Heads/cam then I'd say you need atleast a 4000. FWIW I wish I would have gone bigger.

I put a Yank SS 3600 stall in my last T/A and it made a huge difference. It didn't hurt the gas mileage much and it was still very drivable. But when I wanted to get on it, that stall woke that car up!!!! Go with at least a 3000 but a 3600 is well worth the money!!

3600 here, and it was well worth it.
