Default Moving forward with the TVS swap

Just picked up a TVS2300 head unit. My plans are to install the TVS2300 on the MP112 lower manifold and use Pontiac G8 parts to help bring it all together. Custom parts will most likely need to be made but I will cross that bridge when the time comes.

This is a warning to anyone interested, this will be slightly long and drawn out but I have the hardest part to get now. I will keep everybody posted on how the swap goes.

.
I wish you the best of luck- i tried doing the same thing-and gave up and changed the heads. After about 3 weeks i threw in the towel, changed the heads and i am still working on the drive side of things. It would be a great option for anyone with cathedral port heads if you can make it work.

Dumb ques: So, the TVS head unit fits on the MP112 manifold? Does the MP112 manifold just act like a plenum, then?

Take a butt-load of pics. Can't wait to see them.

Basically yes and no. It should fit with som well placed holes and cutting. There rear jackshaft mount is going to be the difficult part but seems easier to make than the front.

This part has my tail between my legs. It'll be fun watching your progress though.

I though ichpen used the intake manifold from a TVS2300 G8 or GTO kit. is that not true?

I had a drop in kit for that mod already. It fits under the stock hood, BUT you had to do a few cuts in the metal under it to make it clear a few spots. It was just too expensive for them thru magnuson so i never pushed to sell them. It is the same setup on my 2005 Silver V that sounds like it is mad at the world. I can still get them though if someone actually wanted one.. It fits awsome.

He did use a complete manifold. He said he wouldnt be tight lipped about it but I haven't been able to get any info out of him by asking on the forum. I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible if you want to call doing a custom 2300 install cheap.

Would it be possible to get some good pictures of the jackshaft setup? I've been looking for pics just for reference but there just aren't many really good shots.

While doing some preliminary measurements, looks like most of my ideas for the drive setup will work. Not sure if I should go 10 rib on the back or 8 like the MP. it's already tight so I think I'm gonna sand blast the 8 rib pulleys I have and see if they slip. I really want cogs but I need to have more of the big parts ready for mock up before I just start buying a bunch of crap.

I emailed hendrix engineering a few weeks back asking about options (MP112 or bigger). They informed me that they are working with Edelbrock on something out of the E Force line for our cars (1900 and 2300). So you may want to get in touch with them on some of the parts that go along with what they are fabbing.

Honestly, there isn't anything I can use from an E-force kit that I don't have from my MP112. The blower is so different there is no interchange at all.

Congrats on moving forward with the build! With all of the problems of the Whipple's and the KB isn't even made for cathedral port heads anymore, this seems about the only way to go now.

If you don't mind, where did you source the head unit? And would you mind giving a ball park dollar range of what "we" could expect to be in for in going to a 2300?

I'm thinking either do this, or sell the complete kit and try going with a Comp oil-less twin turbo setup...which would probably be quite a bit amount of fab work (or more) but not having to deal with the intricacies of a drive belt system.

Thanks for your willingness to share.
