Default Do the LS7 exhaust manifolds fit any closer to the engine like "block huggers"?

I am doing a swap into a Jaguar and trying to find a set of exhaust manifolds that will not interfere with my steering shaft. I have honestly tried all of the the manifolds except the LS7/LS9 manifolds. I tried the truck, GTO, LS2 Corvette, LS1 Corvette, LS6 Z06 Corvette, F-Body, Grand Prix/Impalla SS, CTS-V... nothing has worked.

I think the only ones left are the LS7 manifolds. Anybody have a set, or have any experience with them?

I need something that dumps straight down, is kind of short, and/or hugs the block a little.

Thanks, -Dave

LS3 fit pretty tight. I did not try the LS7's though.

Are the LS3 exhaust manifolds a new design, or were they used on an earlier application? I pulled up a couple pictures of the LS3 engines and they look like the LS2 Corvette manifolds.

I think those LS3 manifolds are the same as the LS2 Corvette manifolds. Was there much of a difference as to how far they stuck out away from the block?

Is "LS2 Corvette" manifold different from the LS2 GTO manifolds? The GTO manifold is a shorty block hugger with an angle to the exhaust out port.

Yea, thanks for the link. That's my plan B. If none of the stock manifolds work I am going to go with headers, either the Hooker of Sanderson ones. I am going to put the engine in and take one last hard look to see if anything will work.

This is the Right side LS3 crate engine manifold.

This is the Left side LS3 crate engine manifold.

I don't know what manifolds were used in the 'Vette because I haven't taken one apart, but these are what comes with the crate engines.

You can see that the outlet is under the rear cylinder on the LS2 parts & pretty close to the center on the LS3 units.

Cool, thanks for the additional pics.

The manifolds on the LS3 are definitely the LS2 Corvette manifolds. The ones on the LS2 look a lot like AIR equiped truck manifolds.

Do you still have that LS7 - or maybe just the LS7 manifolds?

I have 2 sets of LS7 manifolds. What information would you like about them?

Awesome! I am going to install my engine, hopefully for the last time, and measure my clearance between the engine block and the wall of the engine compartment. Hopefully I can get you to take some measurements of the manifolds after that?

I saw this posting, anyone know if LS7 exhaust manifolds bolt up to a 2004 LS6?
and then fit in a CTSV?

Yes on the Ls6 I don't know about the ctsv. Why not run your stock manifolds?
