94 v6 firebird lsx swap questions
so Im parting out my 3rd gen camaro was doing a lsx swap into cause I wanted a more complete car and 3rd gen parts are hard to come by now, so I picked up a 94 firebird with a v6 and it came with a lt1 engine and trans with k-member for a ltx swap which ill be selling the motor and trans to make up the funds for buying the car, Now do I really need to use a ls k-member for this swap? or can i make the lt k-member work? and is there any other things I would need for this swap, Im still doin more research on this project.
thanks.
thanks.

so if i were to get a set of 1" forward swap plate I should be able to use the lt1 k-memeber? only reason Why I ask to use swap plate cause I called around for ls1 k-member at local yard that i know that have camaros and firebird and most of them are gone or damaged.

(I didn't read the links, but thought I'd leave this tip from my own personal experience)
I believe the frames have different holes in them. We found that my trans cross-member from my '00 didn't line up with the '95 frame. Currently, the plan is to acquire a LT1 transmission cross-member from a friend and try it again.
I swapped everything from a '00 over to a '95, retaining nothing. Even the fuel tanks and fuel pumps are different. In your case, obviously change the differential, driveshaft, and torque arm.
Good luck!
*edit*
I forgot to mention, a '94 is an OBDI equipped car; Both PCM and scanner port. My '95 is an OBD1.5, which is an OBDII port with an OBDI computer, originally. Luckily, every-single-thing was moved over from the '00, so no headaches outside of inspection. I'd definitely suggest getting a LS1 PCM and body harness for convenience sake; The OBD ports are cake to replace, too.

The rear diffs are the same for a '95 3.4L V6 and a '00 LS1? Hmm, interesting.
But, I can attest that the driveshafts and torque arms are different, as the stock shaft was a 2-piece and steel. Further, I think there are different spring rates and such between them as well, no? Additionally, the control arms (front & rear), panhard, are all the same between model and trim years? I know there were some upgrades between models, as far as F/R swaybars are concerned.
It matters naught for my application, as all my stuff is already aftermarket. But just curious for the sake of knowing.

I overlooked the V6 part, my bad. I've been working on a 97 Z28 wiring all day so that was stuck in my head..lol
In this case, yes, rear axle will be open and have drum brakes, driveshaft will be that two piece junk. I would try to find a Disc Brake setup from a LT1 car, and install a good Posi Unit. The newer Brakes would work too if you can get them.
As far as wiring goes..I've been gettin LS1's running in vehicles with barely any interior wiring(my SS), so no need to install a bunch of mess.
