Borg Warner S480 Turbo L33 5.3 1991 Mustang Notch build update 4/13/14
Figured I would start a thread on this. I am hoping that it will move pretty fast once I get the title for the car. Guy should have it to me next week and I am waiting to put anything IN the car till I have the title in my name. But I will update as I go.
The plan right now is to have this up and running in the next couple months. At this point I have most of the parts I need. The rest I will order as more information becomes available. My plan is to have a streetable car that will weigh in pretty low and still be a fun track car. I plan on having all the safety gear to take it into the high 8's and still be able to drive it home at the end of the night.
I had to ditch my WRX build due to some issues and this was the best car to finish the ls build. Everything will pretty much bolt into this car. All I should have to fab to get it running are some misc mounts and the turbo kit.
Engine:
-L33 5.3 with stock short block and upgraded ARP rod bolts
-ARP studs
-Lunati off the shelf cam
-Holley Hi-Ram intake manifold for cathedral port heads
-Dual valve springs and Ti retainers
-double roller chain
-Comp pushrods
-C5 accessory drive
-Custom harness
-Trunion upgrade
-Gotta make the turbo kit
-A2W intercooler
-Borg Warner/ Forced Inductions S480 turbo
-Manifolds to be determined, but hopefully my C6 manifolds will work out
Fuel:
-BD racing fuel cell
-160lb Bosch injectors
-Aeromotive Eliminator fuel pump
-Hard line to fuel line to be determined
Trans and drivetrain:
-Jake's Performance 4L80E Stage 2
-Circle D converter
-Custom Kilduff Shifter
-8.8 rear end with 3.27
Misc:
-Wolfe 10 point weld in cage
-ADR wheels
-HP tuners 3 bar tune I will be doing myself
-AGX wideband
-PLX boost and intake air temp gauge (will add more sensor modules)
-several new interior pieces
-seats to be determined
-audio to be determined
Day it came home:

Kilduff shifter ordered. It is the autostick with some custom bits and reverse lockout added. I am pretty excited about the shifter and can't wait to see how well it works.
I also have the front suspension, subframe connectors, torque box reinforcement and front 10 way adjustable struts ordered.

I think its funny how everyone on this site accepts the chevy engine going into a Ford. I think its great myself. Hell I would love to have a little Fox with an LS in it. My local Mustang friends just can not get past the idea that in order to make a Mustang fast you need to put a Chevy motor in it
