Default 5.3 into a 62 Impala

I am gathering parts to install a 5.3 into my 62 Impala. I have a 2002 5.3 w/ harness and a computer that I can't identify (1440L25682). If anyone has any info on this swap please share, particularly the oil pan used. I'm sure 59-64 will be the same. I also need info on accessory drive, I would like to use the truck drive or as much of it as I can. I ran across this on feebay, item number:131347831515, and was wondering if anyone has used it? Thanks

There are several 58-64 b body's with the swap. You need an ls1 Camaro oil pan, I used dirty dingo motor mounts which fit perfect. The oil pan will hit the cross member so you need to clearance the crossmember. Truck acssesories work just fine, no fitment issues. Lots of ways to go on the engine harness....

I am using a CTS-v oil pan in my '60 bel air. Haven't tried it yet but the depth is about the same as an f-body pan and you can find them much easier and cheaper on eBay.

I also bought motor mount brackets off eBay that have three different mounting locations so I can more the motor if I need.

The CTS-V pan isn't as shallow up front as the F body pan, which is where the crossmember clearance is an issue. It would probably still work if you notched the crossmember a little more though.

Some guys didnt need to clearance their cross members. Just search for different x frame threads here and bookmark them all. Here's some of them.

I won't know until spring when it warms up again but I'm not going to worry about it too much, can always adjust mounts as well. The cross member isn't as big of an issue as the pan hitting the ground.

I have read that ebay mounts have fitment issues. You get what you pay for.... some guys are making space between the pan and cross member by adding shims or a spacer between the motor mounts and the crossmember. I would not advice that as you could run into driveline issues. I would recommend cutting the crossmember just where the pan hits.

These are the mounts I ordered. Bolted to the block without problems and the stock mounts bolted right too them as well.

Thanks for the input. Does anyone have any photos of the engine cradle modification? There is only 3/8 difference at the front in the CTS-V and the F body pan according to several sites, the CTS-V being deeper at the front. Thanks

I have a set of DD 4 position mount plates to bolt the engine in with, and I'll be using a TKO 5 speed.
