On a high hp engine build where does it start to leak at ?
Under exhaust side most of the time ?

Does the point of leaking change with a aftermarket head vs a stock one or just same spot but at a higher pressure/ hp level?

Dont let it get hot and torque your heads right and you shouldn't have to worry about it!

Bullshit! Do you even own an FI car, or are you just trolling?

I don't know the answer to the OP's question for sure. However from my experiences, I *think* it comes from the outer edge like by where the exhaust manifolds are..

I'm not sure where it does it usually but I've pushed water twice now and it's never externally. Only pressurizing the cooling system with a little anitfreeze in the oil afterwards. I have to pull my heads this weekend for this so I'll find out more.

mine leaked a bit towards the headers on cylinders 3 and 4 (only in one spot per side).
made 1400 fwhp most of the year with little to no pushing until I added a few extra psi of boost and a few extra degres of timing

Guess thats what I get for getting too aggressive with my tune

The thinnest part of the deck surface on the cylinder head- underneath the sparkplug.

After market castings raise that threshold due to thicker decks.

usually 3/4 and 5/7 if its trully lifting due to too thin deck. if its lifting due to detonation then it will lift at that cylinder prolly

Its pretty easy to see here, these are after about 100 low 9 second passes. Nothing ever leaked anywhere externally, just after a couple passes I would have to drain the overflow and put it back in the radiator when it got bad.

Those are Dart heads, the AFRs I ran afterwards were a little better but still leaked in the same place after X amount of passes.

Thank you for the pic that just what i wanted to know.

Im thinking about running just 5 bolts on my warhawk block the 4 main one then the middle one on the exhaust side. Just to see how much added hp it can clamp over just 4 bolts. 4 bolt vs 5 bolt vs 6 bolt just so i can play and learn. Yes i waste alot of time playing around with ideas.

Looks like maybe from being thinner and im guessing hotter on the exhaust port side thats where most of the leaking is coming from on the high hp builds

SBC's hold the heads down too, not just the tune. You have more bolts on the exhaust side.
