Default 383 Lt1 F1-r Blower build

alright guys this is my first thread post thought I'd share a little of what I've worked on for so long over the years. I don't have no money tree growing in my back yard so that is why its taken some time to put together my motor.

I have my own shop so that comes first before anything when I get spare time that is when I work on my car. My goal is to have it running before fall

Engine:
Balanced and Blueprinted
383 Lt1 splayed 4 bolt mains
Forged Scat crank
Forged Scat H-beam rods
Forged Keith Black pistons
195cc Trick flow heads (nothing done just beehive springs)
F1-r Procharger 12 rib
Efi 24x connection
Holley 58mm throttle body
Pacesetter Long tubes (ported/smoothed flanges)
Cometic head gaskets (MLS)

The tear down begins.
F1-r (left) and P1sc (right)
Clocking the Volute upwards and polished the blower while I was at it.

You can check out more pics at my facebook I always update there http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...28a436d&type=1

I wish you luck, but I think you're going to have belt slip issues. The keith black pistons also may sound kind of iffy.

No sir It has around 2,xxx miles on motor already I had the motor built before, I'm just putting the icing on the cake. I was running a powerdyne unit before "that was a joke LOL" then bought a p1sc unit, ran that setup for about 100 miles then got done playing around and bought the F1-r which I haven't ran that yet. I notched the frame for it to fit. Its got good clearance now though.

I already have an intercooler thats mounted up I had bought one a while back on ebay.

Farris Racing a local machine shop which is convenient for me since I don't get alot of time with my business, plus He builds some pretty radical stuff I trust his work. I bought the heads new "bare" so He just machined the valve seats, checked the beehive valve spring installed height, and assembled them.

You think its gonna have belt slip issues? how come man? Do those pistons have something wrong with them? I've heard good things about them around here.

was looking at the Ltcc and the efi 24x ls1 coil conversions but the 24x setup seems too pricey for me. I'm interested on the Baily Ltcc, anyone have any feedback on either one?

some more pics. of the build

I installed the head studs today and my cloyes #3145 timing set I was more then happy of the cloyes set there is absolutely zero slack, I had the factory gm piece before and there was just so much slack it was ridiculous highly recommended for anyone doing the electric water pump route.

Default f1a procharger ?'s

What type of intake do u have? I have a edlebrock lt4 intake that i now needs to be upgraded but as far as dollars and cents will my gains be worth investing in a new intake and heads? sorry dude i am a newbie but oone will give me str8 answer. I also have edlebrock heads currently, but the engine builder said with the blower on there minimal net gains would be made by spending the money on new intake and heads and the money just wouldnt be worth it. but the guy was jerk and im finding out a lot of what hes advised me to do is wrong. any help or advice would be well appreciated.

Need more info on your set-up but the stock, ported, LT1/LT4 intake has been taken deep in the 9's on blower and nitrous applications. On of those is a Impala SS (heavy *** street car with AC!) Look up Jeff Greene on the Impala forums or LTXTech. He is a super nice guy. Just get the intake ported. Those Edelbrock heads will be a restriction long before the intake.

Making plans on setting the engine back in the car maybe this week coming, I'll have to work late to get it done though It wouldn't be the first time either.

I droped off the motor today so I can have a spacer machined for the crank and blower pulleys hopefully everything comes out nice, I'm sure it will every time I'm in their shop they have something that puts me in ease , radical motors that will just eat mine alive!!!
I will keep yall posted

more pics for ya

Canton oil pan, Canton oil pump pickup, Canton Valve covers I polished them, Cloyes double roller timing set, Ati Aluminum 10% under drive damper with Big Block steel hub, Cometic MLS head gaskets, and Percys header gaskets.

z8's on here ran 8's with a lt4 intake and heads! so no not really worth changing untill you start running higher rpm's, 7k+, which you cant do well on a stock comp.

Well nothing new going on with the build, Buisness gets in the way of it all but no complaints from me I am on the other hand going a new direction with my setup. I have been waiting on the blower spacer from being machined its taken awhile but after waiting that long I've decide to just go ahead and do the Efi 24x connection Ls1 pcm and the Ls2/(D585) pickup coils sounds pretty good to me. I made plans on setting the motor back in the car about 2 weeks ago but glad I'm not going to put the opti-spark back in it! I will order everything hopefully on Monday, I'll keep updates.

Good choice. I really like my 24x kit.
