Thanks for the response! Much appreciated!

Now can someone put some real input in? Just would like some opinions. Sounds pretty solid, but its a few states away... Would hate to go that far out of my way for nothing

You could spend a bit more $ and get one with a 12bolt/9" rear making a lot more power with better parts in/on/around the motor.

Total up the drivetrain and $ in it. That car isn't worth much.

Car has a nice foundation to start off with. Is he firm on the price? See if he can knock a grand off of it or so?
I think it would be hard to find one with all that and a clean body for $8k.

Honestly if the car is being sold for 8k and it still has a 10bolt in it chances are that it's an on3 turbo with a stock bottom end ls1 and a truck mani kit. Not surprised it has a single 255 in it also.

OP, it sounds like it would be a good starting point but as others have said if you can get a solid drivetrain car then it would be a better deal but you'll pay a little more. If you wanted to push that setup for more power you are a looking at getting a better rear end, building the bottom end, and possibly swapping the trans or building it up if it isn't already a decently stout trans to begin with.

Only reason I asked what rod and pistons was because he wrote ls1 347. Could just be a typo though.
