Yes, I believe Ronnie Duke was running one. There is a pic in one of the LS1 builders guides.

stock GM coils have made 1500hp+, but for some it doesnt seem that simple. Wormboy was using FAST though (W2W only uses BS3).

I'm in the process of doing a front mount dist. What you will need is a Jesel belt drive timing set, $1175. http://www.jeselonline.com/index.php?categoryid=68&

Also the block will need some machining to accept the Jesel belt drive. When running the above mentioned Jesel belt drive you will no longer be able to drive the factory oil pump therefore you will have to install a external oil pump of some sort. I'm running a 3 stage dry sump at the tune of $3000. http://www.moroso.com/catalog/catego...?catcode=14005.

To my knowledge there is not a front mount belt drive dist. available so I'm modifing one for the SBC http://www.jeselonline.com/index.php?categoryid=69&.

Then you will need an igintion system. For that I have an MSD 10. This baby will lite the space shuttle No factory ecm here Accel Gen VII.

I think I have invested around $10000. Oh yea you read that right 10 grand!!! No one said this crap was cheap!! Maybe that stock multi coil system doesn't look so bad now huh?

I hope this answered your questions....

I don't understand why people are having trouble with the stock ignition setup. I'm still running stock LS1 coils in my CE spinning it to 7400. We run truck coils on the Formula spinning it 8,000+. Have never had ignition issues. We do run BS3. Has this only been a problem on other systems?

The standard small block front drive dist can be adapted for LS use. If you don't have the FAST ecu, buying a BS3 will cure the ignition problems that drive people to add the dist.
We are a dealer for both BS3 and FAST, call 248-589-1190 and ask for Todd if you need any parts to complete your build.
