we didnt....you think it will be necessary at 7psi? even still if enought people think so i would not be to much harder to go back and pin it....he has the kit just a matter of pulling some belts and doing it but is it really necessary at 7psi?

That is not true. In your own post they posted up a picture of a stock crank pinned etc... Take a look again. https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/820708-any-line-write-ups-keying-crank-w-ati-key-kit.html
Do I think it is an absolute must but you are pushing your luck is all I am going to say if it spins you will more than likely take out your crank and you will have to pull it and have it repaired etc... The Maggie kits on the vetts use the pin kit you need for a stock balancer. A shop Like MTI will have a lot of those kits and will probably lend you one etc... If you use and ATI balancer you have to use the kit they sell that goes through the crank and has the pins sticking up etc... Good luck!

What heads and cam did you go with? You may want to get a bigger crank pulley

With the stock unit there is no key way so it needs to be pinned from the front of the crank.

Unless you are using the ATI Super Damp, it dose have a key way and is pinned from the side.

Save yourself major problmes and upgrade to the 8 rib drive with the ATI Super Dampaner if you can. You wont be sorry!

Ricky, you can use a Vette/GTO pin kit for the factory balancer.

It looks VERY nice on there!
