I have never had an auburn in a high hp car. I loved it in my bolt on car. In my 450-500 car I had a 9in with a Detroit trutrac and I love it. So it's tough for me to decide with good experiences with both!

No. ask him to make sure. A gov-loc will last maybe one burnout in our cars. There are a couple of ebay sellers that say it is an Eaton, but then ends up being a Eaton Gov-loc of an S-10.

A G80 locking differential is a Gov-lok and they are JUNK. Do not invest $10.00 in that thing you will be sorry you did. As for comparison between and Auburn and a true Eaton I would go with an Eaton. Last longer and is rebuildable, the Auburn you throw away and buy a new unit.

I agree. The cone clutches are worn in my Auburn, and it causes excessive inward/outward axle play. Its so bad that it causes pad knock back on my driver's side caliper. I'd get with the Eaton as long as its not a gov-lock.
