I hope to line up next to one real soon. I think it may suffer the same fate as the Camaro for the first year. A bunch of old guys with money buy them for the hype. A decently optioned GT is 35K now.

Very impressive.
They ran a 13.2@110 their first time out in bone stock trim.

I wouldn't hold my breath. April was the best sales month for the Camaro since launch. I don't think performance alone is going to be able to push the mustang that far ahead in sales. The Camaro is still the "it" car.

Well, I do not think I am terribly old and I love race and I ordered a 2011 GT.
It boiled down to this. I test drove them both and the SS felt like my 300C SRT8. Yes, it was fast and it felt like a boat to me. Drove a GT at a local dealer ship here that Ford lent them for a large Mustang show they have every year. It felt like I was actually going some place when I stepped into the throttle.
Overall I just thought the Camaro felt to big. I do however like its looks over the Mustang. Interior was about the same between the cars.
Anyway I am off to work that is my post.

Overall, the camaro is still very fresh and unfortunately for you (and me) who need a good deal, I don't see it happening anytime real soon. Especially once they start advertising this car more.

and followed it up with a 12.8@111 on the next pass in same trim.

I think it will take a while to grab much attention. Sure a lot of guys have been holding off for the 5.0, but has anyone really been waiting for the updated V6? I don't think so. As they get out there and people see they can hang with other "performance" v6 cars, I am sure sales will improve, but it will take some time before somebody who wanted a bmw 3 series or a infiniti will really even look at a v6 mustang. Most bmw drivers buy for the logo, not the performance anyway. Seeing how the mustang still has the rough rider solid axle in the V6, I think that will hurt its sales as well to some just based on ride quality.

v6 mustangs have and always be the top selling option. people arent necessarily buying them to blow everything away. they buy them because they owned one before or because they like the way it looks. a solid axle will not hurt sales. it hasnt before and it wont now.
expect sales to be huge and a long waiting list well into this summer or later.
