WHat I dont understand is the labeling
SS has always been the heavy hitter big horsepower car
Z28 has been the no but performance (high revving)
IMO the labeling needs to be switched
but good ot know a big boy is coming out

Why? Insiders say the Z28 business case now makes sense because the new UAW contracts have reduced the labor costs on the car to the point where GM feels it can price it competitively -- and far enough away from Corvette

It makes perfect sense. The SS label has been severely diluted and to me the Z represents the true performance these days. Z06 ZR1 and now Z28

Just boosting up the SS, and adding the Z as a lower line made more sense!

when first gens came out SS's where just a sports package the Z28 was the original power car it makes perfect since that they would originate back to their original platform terms. . . . .SS was just deliuted.
