Lids are usually good for around 10 hp because the stock one is extremely restrictive

I did some research a while back on this and it goes either way. Some claim to get 10hp others claim to lose hp. I personally went out and bought that stuff because I have a 90mm FAST on my car and it just doesnt seem like it makes sense to have a 78mm air lid and a 90mm intake. It helps me sleep at night.... just my .02

Without facts to back it up shouldn't make anyone sleep better at night, unless ya like flushing $ down the toilet! ;-) We need metrics!

there is a reason for the fluctuation in results...can anyone guess what the major reason why is...

well it cant be the lid besides a few hp here and there, that would make consistent results...maybe it is because people just throw a completely different maf on a car that was not tuned for it...so it is hit or miss, if you were possibly running a hair rich before the maf swap and the new maf leaned you out you might gain power. or vise versa if you have a dead on tune and the new maf makes you rich or lean it will cause a loss in power...

i would only swap the maf if i knew i was getting a touch up on the tune to accommodate for it...

also the slp maf has a resistor soldered into it that makes it harder to tune...
i would just recommend a gm 85mm truck/z06 maf...

if you are not going to get it tuned i would just keep it the way it is...
