What did you use for block off plates?

Default What did you use for block off plates?

Hey fellas an unusual thing happened to me today , put my headers on right , the headers came with the emisson holes , so the qestion is what did you do when you had this problem?
Note: Block off plates don't work theres no thread pattern .

I used one of the heat sheilds, you gotta use a nut and bolt

Yeah i'm not really understanding the issue here. You bolt the block-off plate to the flange on the header. Simple.

no see the headers i have the egr holes on the headers are bigger than the regulars ones, when I put the old egr plates on they was to to small so I have to try and find a way to get this done.
@ Z28 2002 you cut your heat shield and used that ? No leaks huh?

I used some high temp gasket maker and it never leaked

I used some 20 guage sheet metal, 2 bolts, 2 nuts.

Done... Don't make it harder than it is and don't overthink it.

use thick paper make a template.get some 1/8 thick plate from home depot,use a thin grinder wheel to cut it out.use a nut & bolt.

as stated, Cut your own plates then. get some scrap metal, make a template, draw the outline on the metal then cut it and drill 2 holes and bolt them on.....situation over

I have some stainless straps used to hang duct work out in the field. I made a couple out of that for my 98 car.

I took a narrow file and slightly elongated one of the holes on the header. Then used nuts and bolts. Took about 15 min.

cut them off and have someone weld a small patch on...I have personally seem 3 snap off before and on all types of headers...pacesetters, qtp, and hookers
