Are you going by what the dash gauge says or are you verifying the voltage with a multimeter?

i was chasing a similar problem for months on my car until i realized i didn't check with my meter. long story short my dash gauge is wrong and I'm at 13.9-14.4v all the time.

I would believe the meter, its fast & a easy check. I have found those o'reily alts are junk in my opinion. Also if replacing, try to find the 145a truck alt. From what I read, they were on the subs & escalades.

^^+1 145a truck alt. That's what I did. The car ones are junk and new ones can literally **** out in the first hour.
