if money is no object get qtp's with high velocity merge...they will make most power, last forever, and have great clearence...but they are quite a bit of money $1249.99+shipping to be exact just for the headers, you'll need a new y-pipe...or get true duals and ditch the loudmouth...which i would HIGHLY recomend..the loudmouth wil sound terrible with headers and no cats...and then just sound bad with headers and cats...either way duals will benefit you the most...here's a link

I would go with kooks or the qtp's, if I didnt mind the cost of them.

If money is important to you, I would get the coated pacesetter's and catted y pipe. If you don't test for emissions, I would put the true duals on myself. I did and am very happy with the outcome. Kooks and QTP's are awesome pieces of work without doubt, but again, if you want performance and cost to be factored.....

If you want best clearance, get the Stainless Works with their stainless 2.5" Y pipe and Random Tech Cats. They say they do not hurt performance versus the 3" Y until 450 hp and I believe them.

Leave on the manifolds you have now, and put the $1250 plus in the bank to save for an ATI procharger. The '01 and '02 Manifolds are better than the previous years. Even though the 'charger would like headers, there is nothing wrong with the stockers for the time being. They are the equivalent of shorty headers. Just my $ .02.

just to let you know shorty's suck...so saying they are as good as shorty's is not saying much at all...you will still gain over 20rwhp with headers on the 01-02 cars

I know you'll gain- everyone knows you'll gain. That's not what I'm saying. Shorty headers are nothing special. My thoughts were that for $1200, instead of gaining 20-30 hp, put that money towards the 'charger and get 140-170 hp. That's all I was getting at. Just food for thought. I saw in his sig that his desired future mods were FI and something else. Not spending money on Kooks would get him there sooner.

Hey I live in mahopac and if you want to hear what my setup sounds like PM me and I'll glady show you. However my car isn't leaving the garage till the roads are clean so you'd have to come to me I went with hooker headers and my car sounds unbelievable at WOT.
