Default torque or limiting strap?

torque or limiting strap? Does anyone make a torque or limiting strap for our cars? Has anyone done anything of this nature to prevent specific y pipe bang?
All my y pipe banging problems are specific to engine tq'ing, like most of the rest I'm sure, has anyone corrected in this way?

I've seen people ghetto it up but never seen a
manufactured one. I took apart an old Wildcat
once that had a strap made from steel cable and
bent steel keepers bolted to the exhaust manifold
and shock tower, something like that would serve.
But so will poly motor mounts, which is what most
people seem to go with. Some just use one since
that's half the pain in the *** and nearly as
effective (I forget which one is the right one,
I got 'em both).

I was wondering if the poly mount would do or if that would cause more trouble with something else and then break anyway. Or is it just noise control (factory soft rubber mount)
LMAO! I've seen ghetto setups as well and wanted to avoid that if possible

Taking a cue from the GN owners I ran a 1" ratchet tie down from the alternator bracket to the frame by the swaybar bracket. It seemed to work pretty good.

Its more than one spot that bags. I cant see that fixing the problem. Its engine travel that needs to be corrected. The poly mounts do it alone? I like that strap idea... heheheh cheap but effective until a prettier solution can be had. But if the mounts do it then ok.

I've used a rachet tiedown strap. It was great with the stock motor mounts, but with the poly mounts the motor doesn't move enough to really worry with it.

Cool, thx for the info... Looking into poly mounts, I've seen some sold mounts made by a sponsor here for the same money. Any advantage dis-advantage to them?

OK, going with prothane mounts and also going to look into modifying this to make it work: http://www.competitionengineering.co...?CatCode=10029.

I've heard good things and bad things about poly mounts. Prothane are supposed to be the softest so we'll see. The mustang torque strap with rubber bushings might be a good option as well. I'm going to get some measurements this weekend and see if it will work. If it does I think the best combo would be oem rubber mounts and the strap with rubber bushings. That would be the softest combo, and if the bushings on the tq strap tear they're a lot easier to replace. Any thoughts? I'm concerned about resonance and vibration from the poly mounts.
