Help me decide. QTP or Kooks.
I was originally saving for the QTP's but with the recent issues the Kooks seem a lot more appealing. I dont want to spend all that money for it not to fit right, but at the same time I really want the QTP's. I dont know a whole lot about the Kooks but from reading all the posts on here most people like them. How low do the Kooks hang over the QTP's? Which Y-Pipe fits better? Ive read an *** load of posts on the 2 but cant come up with a decision. I was hoping some one could help me pick one cause Im way to indecisive on this. Thanks in advance.

Both are Grott style headers. There have been fewer reported issues with the Kooks y pipe. The Kooks y pipe now is available in stainless steel.

I'm in the same boat. For a long time, it was Kooks that I was going to buy. Then QTP comes out with the HVMC as standard, the headers being polished, and they lowered the price!! Sweet!! So, I was sold on QTP headers, but then I started reading all about the Y-pipe issue. So, I too, don't know which is the best answer. I'm leaning towards Kooks, though.

There are alot of posts on the QTP not fitting right, but catch me if I am wrong, there are more with a seamless install.
I purchased the QTP because of the polished look and the extra power from the HFMC. Just shop around, they can be hard to come by...

I was in the same boat not that long ago. Heres my post https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/504880-kooks-lt-question.html
I decided to go with Kooks, they should be arriving during the week . I got them for a really good price from Speed-engineering w/ free shipping, give Sean a call he's great to deal with.

Here is a pic....You can see where the exhaust shop did some work...I had them add a flange on the driver side and I will eventually have one on the other side...I also had them weld most of the seams...

It's a tough decision.
You could have fitment issues with any brand header/y-pipe. Each car is a little different, each header is a little different.
Which collector works best depends on many variables: how the heads flow, which intake is used, which camshaft, to name a few.
For someone to come out and say off the top of their head that brand x makes more porwer....I don't know....show me some accurate and independant test results.
All that said, I wouldn't hesitate buying either QTP or Kooks (I'm sure there are other good brands out there in addition to those two.) My guess is that there isn't much difference in performance.
