Re: Do most see gains with 85MM MAF?
I have a SLP 85mm, don't notice any extra power when I swap them at the track-not even a .5mph.
The increase {if there is one} might be too small to notice if you don't run them back to back in the same conditions. BTW, I'm pretty much stock-you might see some better gains. For me it was a waste of 135 bucks over my home ported stocker.

Re: Do most see gains with 85MM MAF?
I have one and noticed a good sotp at first but since I dynoed running very rich I put the stock meter back on. The car feels weaker up high but stronger down low. I'm gonna stick with the stock one for a few hundred miles and see it my mpg changes or not. If I were to do it over again I would have got a Pace performance mas. I'm always find pieces of leaves on the inside of my lid so I'm not gonna run one without a screen.

From what I see, there's no consistent pattern.
It has potential to improve airflow, but if it
wasn't the big limiter to start, it won't be the
biggest improver. I think the people who get big
gains, get them from messing the WOT mixture
around (a true-calibrated aftermarket MAF should
be identical to the stocker in terms of signal /
airflow, many seem to be not). Nowadays there are
other ways to modify mixture than just hanging on
a different MAF sensor and hoping lean is better.
Plenty of people who go fast say the stock unit
is perfectly fine (if you're not forced induction
or sub-11 sec then this almost certainly applies).
But that never stopped me from shopping, and you
might not be able to rest until you bolt on every
bolt-on either.

With a big cube motor, go ahead and splurge. Be prepared to slightly tweak your tuning.

Re: Do most see gains with 85MM MAF?
I just installed the TR224 @ 112 cam with SLP long tubes, high flow cats and Loudmouth (this resonator will be replaced, I can't stand the rasp)
anyway.... My question is, besides a Lid, I still have the stock TB and MAF but I picked up an 85MM MAF when I got the headers. Should I run the 85MM or will this give me a lean condition?
I also have NOS, but have not run it yet on this set-up. The car was just started with this combo this week by the way.
Thanks

Re: Do most see gains with 85MM MAF?
Vin: The SLP unit is calibrated so it SHOULDNT be to far off from your stock unit. Granted its gonna need some tweaking. My LTRIMS with the stick were -6 to 0 and with the SLP they jumped to 0 to +5
I did the ported TB and SLP 85mm and picked up 3mph at the track, but I also went from nittos to et streets at that same time. So my guess would be I maybe saw 5hp from it and maybe 10 from ported TB. The more mods the more the 85mm would help. if you are stock, its not really gonna giva ya 3-5hp if that
