LS7 Lifters and new heads/cam
Hey can anybody tell me what preload i need on gm LS7 lifters? im using them with my new install, and i need to figure out what size rods i need. any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

haha ok so between .050 and .090? the guys im getting all my parts through said he thought he had his at .100 but if they have too much preload wouldnt that give me valve lash?

Too much preload and the valves will hang open and not seal. Best by is go to zero lash then you should have between a minimum 3/4- max 1 1/4 turn til tight. If too many turns til tight you need shorter pushrod, less turn you need longer ones

ya dont you have the red camaro? i havent seen it around lately i was gunna flag you down next time to catch up. i dont work at that KG anymore but i think your chick lives across the street from me, i could use an extra hand, a couple buddies are helpin me but some more LS1 knowledge would be helpful. shoot me an email on how i can get ahold of you theman1990@msn.com

this is my situation, i have a length checker, its basically an adjustable pushrod to figure out length, what i was told is to adjust that out to zero lash after i get my heads, cam, lifters, all put in, then add the preload of the lifters to that number to figure out the length i need. for example if i get 7.275 at zero lash and the preload is .100 then i will need a 7.375 rod.
