Default Got my 228r cam kit from tsp!!!!!!

hey guys just got my cam package from tsp i went with the 228r 112lsa its an a4 dd i bought the dual spring package, melling oil pump, timing chain, and the basic gasket kit. but im concerned because i see that i didnt get any locks i was wondering if i could use my stock ones also i was told that the valve stem seals were different int and exh. but i got 16 of the same brownish looking seals is this ok or do i need to contact them and get different ones

by the way i crashed my 98 z28 and the motor is going in a 98 v6 fire bird im in the process of the cam swap while the motor is out side just wondering how will the car run with this cam and a 3200stall from circle d on stock 2.73s as a dd and track toy MODS TO THE CAR WILL BE THE CAM,LTS,TURE DUALS AND SLP LID THATS ALL FOR NOW

thanks in advance guys!!!!

Stock locks are utilized with the PRC dual spring kits. The seals that come with our kits (as well as the competitors') are the same for intake and exhaust.

It's not unusual to see about 35-40rwhp gains with that cam even through the relatively drivetrain.

I put the same cam in my A4 and it's a pretty nice cam, pretty tame even on a 112 LSA since there isn't much overlap. Just some words of advice, until you get a tune, adjust the set screw for your throttle body blade abuot 3/4" of a turn folling the Throttle Position Sensor relearn process. This will help your idle and get you by until you get the tune. Also, watch how low you set your idle. I believe due to my low idle I was getting some valve opening overlap where I was getting fresh air in the cylinder which was getting out of the exhaust valve before it closed and subsequently I was running really rich at idle because of the "detected" lean condition. I bumped my idle up to 300 PRMs above stock idle and the problem cleared up.

You'd better run a trans cooler, those 2.73's can burn up that tranny with a stall.

i had 8 more torque then you. at first i was a little suprised at how low it dynoed but from the way it drives it feels like more of a gain then the numbers show. ill just have to take it to the track, thats the real way to test the car

i think the tuner didnt lock the converter when he did this tune so it reads a lot lower. he also didnt have my cutout open so i dont really take my numbers seriously.

What tires are you running? If that's on drag radials I'd expect a lower time

i have the 228r cam with pat ls6 59cc heads, weiand intake with a fast 90mm, Lts, lid and 2.5 inch exhaust and a m6. My best time was 13.4 at 107 mph with a 2.2 60 ft time and .8 reaction time. this was also my very first pass so you can tell i should have seen mid 12's just based off of my trap speed and shitty reaction. I have .3 rts now but that with a bad clutch. Ethier way with your stall you will easily see 12's. I now have an 8.8 with 4.10s and a stage four monster so i am hoping to see low 12's maybe high 11's. Soon comes the spray. surge is very minimal as well very good cam i tuned it my self

That run was on street tires , stock gearing and 2500 stall.

If you change to 3.42's or 3.73's the car will be a completely different beast.
