Default ...Motor swap ?'S...

So, in the near future I am going to be replacing my stock block(out of my 02 SS), for a forged longblock, for a boosted application...
I have seen many write-ups on how to swap the motor and what not, but I am still a little hesitant of tackling the job myself...I am pretty mechanically inclined so I know the in's and out's of most things...
I have most tools needed for the job except two engine stands, a hoist, and two torque wrenches...Adding all those items together that equals say 800-900 bucks mostly depending on the type of torque wrenches that I go with...
Anyway, I have been quoted by a fellow board member on another site that does some badass work to do the swap for 800-900 bucks...
So my question is, should I buy the tools necessary for the swap and do it myself for the experience(I just don't want to **** up), or pay this guy to do it?..

Thanks in advance

Kev

What prior lsx work/experience do you have? Have you tackled other big projects as well?

I helped out a guy that did a cam swap on my prior LSX car, and i have done simple bolt on stuff such as headers, suspension etc...That is why I am a little hesitant...LOL

Are you rebuilding the motor or just swapping it out?

Swapping the motor out on a LS F-body is not that hard. It's a hell of a lot easier than a LT car.

I don't see where you would need a torque wrench for a motor swap.(I will probably get flamed for that.)

Engine hoist, some concrete blocks for to put the rear tires on, two big jack stands for the front, some sort of cart with wheels on it(I use a bread cart actually) and that's about it.

I took my car apart last week.

Just swapping it out mainly, minus the exception of transferring over all of my accessories(water pump, power steering pump, front cover, alternator, oil pan etc) from my current block to the long block...The torque wrench will be used for all of these things plus whatever else...

Why are you swapping the pan over? Does the new engine not have one?

You don't need a torque wrench for those things. (flame suit on)

The longblock does not come with an oil pan...And you should be torquing every bolt down to spec, especially if there are gaskets involved...

I see the sticky on the top of this page for, "under the car removal," but I could not find a good write-up for "out of the top."..If anybody knows of a link that would be great...I tried searching for it and I came up empty...
