Default What Are These ARP Main Studs For?? (PIC)

Edit: they don't work for me, but what kind of engine/part would these studs be used on??

I just got a set of ARP main studs that are supposed to work for my LS1, and I'm wondering if all of the studs are supposed to be the same length and thread depth? Pretty much, I have a bunch of identical length and thread studs, with the only difference being some have holes on the ends for an allen wrench, and some don't (seriously... they don't). I don't have access to my block/maincaps right now, so are these the right main studs? They all say ARP on them so I know they are ARP hardware:

97-03 should be exactly the same as far as head studs and main studs go... Right? In 04 they changed the head bolt length at the very least.

i think its 97 to 04 are the same. but anyways if thats all u have u r missing some things. there is 2 different length studs. longer go on the inner studs( 4.770 long). shorter studs go on the outer studs( 4.550 long). there should also b 10 M8 bolts that go in the mains from the side of the block. and 10 windage tray nuts.

Thanks, I'll just return these and buy a new set. Stock M8 side bolts were included with these, but I didn't include them in the picture.

Thanks. Already had those. I had gotten a set of used main studs off of somebody, and wanted to verify that they were the correct ones - since pictures of them online are scarce (and conflicting with what I had received).

Hey guys - just changed the topic. I will be returning them this weekend, but wanted to know if you guys have seen these before and what kind of engine they might be for?

I just seen this thread. I sent him the main studs. They were in my ARE LS1 422 built in late 2001 to early 2002. It was a special built engine that also had 9/16 oversized head studs. This was a high dollar engine at the time ($17K). This was built before ARE fell apart and lost their good standing with the LS1 people.
