Stock rod bolts -Sorry couldn't find in search.
Read this in another thread a minute ago and it got me searching and wondering.
Is 7200rpm near safe with stock rod bolts?
My friends Z06 w/Torquer v.3 is tuned at like 6.5k rpms because the tuner said he didn't trust the stock bottom end on anything more than that. And his car only has 8k original miles.
My car is getting ready to be tuned by the same guy, my engine has 94k on the bottom end, but completely fresh top end. I am running the Torquer v.2 112lsa. Am I gonna be safe at 6.5k rpms or even possibly safely go higher than that?
What do you experts say???

No expert here, what year is your car?? It is kinda a crapshoot if it will last or not. Some people have issues and others don't. I would say to be on the safe side to put some rod bolts in and be done with it. I put in katech rod bolts.

Awesome Jon thank you so much. My car is a 2004 GTO. I would've put the katech bolts in but this was actually a very cheap budget build. Most of the stuff & money to do this was given to me. The only thing I bought was cam & spring kit & gaskets. I did all the work myself & my friend.

agreed...
6800 is pushing it, but as long as when your saying limiter, you mean the actual rev limiter. some people i talk to when they say limiter, thats where they are shifting at.
if i were on a stock 98 short block, i would shift around 6200 and move the limiter to 6800.
even then on stock rod bolts...its a gamble, but i beleive a safe gamble.
