Default max compression to run on 93

building my max effort 383 right now and i found out my heads have 62cc chambers. so that would put my compression to 11.528.. is that to much to run on 93?

What are your can specs, mainly the intake valve closing point? The thing you have to look at is dcr and cranking psi.

In my 408 I'm running 12.5:1 static compression, but my can drops dcr down to pump gas friendly 8.22:1

From all I've found in most cases 8.5:1 dcr and 200psi is about max for 92-93 octane

And altitude, and exhaust events, exhaust componentry, etc. DCR is a fun tool and useful, but it is by no means the end-all-be-all of pump gas friendliness calculations.

That gave me a good laugh!

Thanks for the thread; I am in the process of making my LS1 a 383 as well. I will be doing a TSP 383 kit, -3cc pistons and either 64 cc or 63 cc LS6 heads from TSP.

I called Wiseco and I will be between 11.4 - 11.7 on compression, I just need to talk to Matt on what cam would be best.

So true. I'm at 10.9:1 on shitty 91 octane, ethanol-infested California gas, but Jim @ CalSpeed set me up with a dead-nuts tune, so I'm having no issues.
