Question Corvette Balancer Distance From Timing Cover Question

Can someone tell me the measurement from the rear of the balancer (A/C belt side) inside egde closest to the timing cover to the round flat spots on the timing cover? This is a LS1 corvette accessories setup. Trying to figure out if my balancer is pushed all the way up. Maybe someone has one out with the factory balancer can measure it for me.

Thanks

There is a specific measurement during installation that is taken from the end of the hub to the end of the crank snout. Here is a link that should provide the stock measurement. If you are installing an aftermarket setup than the measurement may be different and you need the stock and new hub length to figure it out.

Can someone take the measurement for me? My balancer bolt is still in the crank but I don't know if I'm close to where it's suppose to be.

If you tightened the crank bolt properly. ie 37 ft lbs then turned an additional 140 degrees then the balancer is on all the way.

I have an ATI so my measurement won't help much. As stated, if correctly installed it is as far back as it can go. Does the belt line up correctly?

Did the 5.3 have a vette pulley on the bottom? It looks like the belt is straight with the power steering pulley. I haven't took the bolt out and replaced it yet with the new GM one. Just trying to see how close I am with the amount of torque I can do. It is still on my engine stand so its hard to do the 240 lb torgue procedure until its in the car.

There was never a 5.3L installed in a Corvette. That said, the FEAD (front engine acc'y drive) has no idea what engine it's being installed on. If you have the complete Corvette FEAD, you should not be experiencing any installation problems...

If you can't get to the 240 with the old bolt during the installation sequence you will never get to the 140 degrees with the new bolt. Is the flywheel on? Can you rent a flywheel stop?
