Default Need help calculating DCR

I have a DRC calculator but it keeps telling me my DCR is around 10.1 and that seems way high based on my setup. Cam is a 226/234 112. Intake close 41 degrees ABDC. See pic. Am I doing something wrong?

I am trying to calculate for my new motor.. Here are the specs. I am going to use the GM MLS head gasket.

LME 347
Weiseco 3.905 pistons
CA Dura Moly Rings
Stock Rods and Crank
ARP rod bolts
Fedral Mogul Main Bearings
Clevite rod bearings
Dura Bond cam bearings
Balanced and blueprinted
Patriot Stage 3 heads 2.055/1.57 59CC

You have to use the IVC figure at .006" lift, not .050".

you also want to input -.007 for the clearance height because the pistons come out of the hole and you want to subtract this measurement.

pat g is right...you'd need the advertised IVC....41° is where the crank is whent he valve is .050" off the seat. ADV should be a larger number...probably around 50 is my guess.

also, where do you get .061 for quench? quench would be gasket thickness - clearance height....or .061-.007 = .054.

what doesnt make sense is that if you do it that way you are factoring the clearance height twice.

try this...forget what i said before and use .061 for the quench and use -.007 for the clearance height. it should calculate your quench and clearance volume from that. to check it, try doing .000 clearance height and .054 quench and see if you get the same answer.

Thanks for the input! My cam card does not have the IVC figure @ .006. Is there anyway to calulate based off the .050 number?

Maybe, where did you get the cam from (Comp, Crane, Lunati, etc...) and what cam lobe "profile" is it built on. Also need the ICL (advance)...

It is a Lunati cam. I will take a pic of the cam card so you all can see it.

I'd give Lunati or the cam grider a call to find out for sure. The other way to get it is to gave the cam put on a Cam Doctor and have the specs read. A performance shop around your area may have one. It will give you lift and duration at any point on the lobes.
