Default ls1howto....

is anyone else having a problem accessing this site. i was wandering how to get the lifter valley cover off\ remove the connectors holding it in?

lifter valley cover? Do you mean the lifter trays or the valley cover? There are only connectors (knock sensors) in the valley cover. All you have to do is get some long needle nose pliers or something of the sort and squeeze the plastic top so that they release. Then just unthread the knock sensors. As for the lifter trays, just unbolt them.

my bad, not familar with Ls motors, just older junk. started head\cam swap and w\o being able to get to ls1howto i assumed, and assumed wrong. after prying it up a little i noticed nothing was there. time to buy a service manual......at least for install. i'm assuming the lifters are under the heads?

Yeah.... I have not been able to access the site, too.

I am in the last stages of my cam install and was looking to go over the write up again. Luckily I have read the Cam/Valve Spring Install write-up a thousand times.

Only need to re-install the front cover and balancer then I can get the headers started.

I beleive that the knock sensors in the valley cover call for 22MM socket to remove.. if my memory serves me ..
