Why no LS1 based V-6?

Why no LS1 based V-6?
Why hasn't GM made a LS base V-6 by removing the front two cylinders? I think it would make more power and get better mileage than the 4.3.
I think they could make 300HP V-6.
But I guess with the 4.3 still going strong guess its cheaper just to freshin' it up!
Ah well who wants a V-6 anyway!

Because 90 degree V6's vibrate like crazy, they are inherently imbalanced.
hit the nail on the head, these days people want smoother running v6's and its a lot easier to do it with a 60 degree v6 then a 90 degree v6 and a balance shaft

The LZ9 has: New cylinder heads apply design features developed for the high-output LS1 and LS6 Corvette small-block V8s. The 3.9L V6’s valves are similar to those in the LS1, as is its combustion chamber design.
