Default Why no LS1 based V-6?

Why hasn't GM made a LS base V-6 by removing the front two cylinders? I think it would make more power and get better mileage than the 4.3.

I think they could make 300HP V-6.

But I guess with the 4.3 still going strong guess its cheaper just to freshin' it up!

Ah well who wants a V-6 anyway!

would be pretty sick to put in a LS based V6 into the small miata killers they have out now!

I know the turbo models are come but a nice LS based V6 would be cool!

Because 90 degree V6's vibrate like crazy, they are inherently imbalanced.

The LSx motors started life on the drawing board as a V6. Read the book it's shocking but true.

hit the nail on the head, these days people want smoother running v6's and its a lot easier to do it with a 60 degree v6 then a 90 degree v6 and a balance shaft

they sure as hell could simplify the 3800. did a cam swap on one and will never do it again. just the front cover is complicated as all hell.

The LZ9 has: New cylinder heads apply design features developed for the high-output LS1 and LS6 Corvette small-block V8s. The 3.9L V6’s valves are similar to those in the LS1, as is its combustion chamber design.
