Question about 241 vs 243 Heads
I keep seeing 241 and 243 heads mentioned on this site so out of curiosity I looked under my hood and noticed that mine say 243 on them. What does that mean? My car is an '02 SS. The only reason I ask is that someone mentioned that their '02 Camaro has stock 241 heads. So, why does mine say 243?

No confusion. They have "243" stamped on them.

So I guess that the previous owner could've placed 243 heads on my car and they could possibly be ported? That being said, it's also possible that he placed a CAM on the car? Damn, now I'm back to being confused again.
I posted a thread on here whenever I first got my car about this car coming alive around 2500+ RPM, almost like a Turbo kicking in. Someone replied that this is normal. Is it? Now I'm wondering if I have a head/cam package on this car. Any way to find out without tearing her apart?
So, to make sure that I have it right:
1) I do have LS6 heads
2) They are not stock
3) GM never put 243 heads on fbodies
Thanks for the comments.

If you're not the original owner you may have a Z06 engine if the cam is LS6 too. You would know this because the car would be hard to keep under control in the first two gears at open throttle.

Are you serious or kidding? Is there anything that I can check for? The car, in fact, has no traction in first and second. Any more thoughts? Thanks.
Never mind, I saw where someone laughed. God, I'm such a newbie.
