Question Not sure if you would call this an "elbow"

I was looking up Accufab carb TB's and came across this "elbow," but it is not really an elbow. Is anyone running these?

I am wondering how much of a benefit these are over the true style elbows. I am going with a carb intake and would rather keep the traditional TB over a carb type TB, but not if it is going to rob me of a **** load of power.

BTW - I am running a VFN 5" Ram Aim cowl hood so that won't be an issue

I belive that is a 03-04 cobra TB. It is not a 4150 flange

The 4150 is the way to go.

Yeah this specific one in the pic is form a Mustang, but I was talking about the design on the inlet. I'm sure they make these for our bolt pattern or no?

So no one has anything to say about these vs a full elbow?

Find one with a 4150 flange on that kind of angle.

So is that your way of saying that there are none made with a 4150? If that is the case, a adapter plate can easily be made.

The outlet for the mustang elbows are pretty oblong, I think one would be better off with a 4150 than trying to elbow.

Yeah, in the end it looks like the rout that I will be going, but I like to explore alternatives. One reason is I am worried about rain and how the 4150 sit right under the cowl, but then again, it's not as if I will be without a hat on top of the TB, but still....

I must be seeing the pic wrong or something - but it looks like to me 5" cowl or no 5" cowl, that thing is not going to fit under the hood anyways

If you're referring to my hood, it is a FIVE INCH cowl, lol. And on a side note, i am not one that shy's away from cutting up **** as long as it looks good, or is functional in the end

No, I was just interested in the elbow I posted because of the lack of a bend that seems to rob the setup of HP. Since an elbow with that same type of angle is not made for out carb'ed intakes, I guess I will use a 4150.

I just like it for the lack of "elbow" and was thinking that it would be more efficient than a 90* or whatever degree elbow that most here use.

Dude-forget that thing.
What heads are you running? Get yourself a nice Carey's intake, big a spacer as you can fit and a carb style throttle body.
The way the throttle body is mounted on that "elbow" (where the cable would pull the blade open) looks to me like it just bends the tb to clear something. It's not meant to be mounted like it's pictured.
HOWEVER, the lack of a severe bend, like a true elbow, would benefit the incoming airflow with the straighter path BUT it really doesn't matter because it's not meant to be mounted the way you're thinking and there's much better stuff out there.
You'd be a NUT to run an elbow with a friggin' 5" hood
You got the space-USE IT!!!!!!!!

I have the WCCH Stage2 L92's. Yeah, I really like the Cary intake, but damn it's $$$. I was thinking of just getting a GMPP, or a Vic Jr.
