High compression 416 Ls3
I don't see many higher compression builds around here. I'm planning to build a 416 LS3 for bracket racing and It'll be running on race fuel. Probably run a 4150 setup and solid roller......I haven't decided what heads I'll run yet.....I'm looking for advice/tips, maybe a few examples that some of you have built and the times they run.....thanks

14.72:1 here... 430 LS3 4.072*4.125
In retrospect I would have gone with the 4" crank and just spun it higher, but this is what I got. Made high 560s unlocked... 620+ locked through a 4l80 and 5th gen driveline on E85.
Plan on having some sort of big boy EVAC - either dual -10 or -12 breathers or a vac pump. The big comp LS3s generate a **** ton of crank pressure. I picked up 35 on the dyno with a vac pump.

13.6-1 on mine. 4.080x4.00 combo. Wiseco +5cc dome off the shelf pistons. I had Richard at WCCH do my heads. I havent been to the track yet, but soon.....real soon...next month with any kind of luck! I'm an index racer looking for 9.40's
x2 on the vacuum pump. Before the moroso was installed, light throttle would push oil out the distributor hole.(yes, dist...I use the GMPP front mount setup)
The o-ring around the ford dist wasnt enough to contain the pressure...even at only >2000rpm

This is a great engine and a great price. I just have no use for it. It makes right at 775HP. 9.10 1/4 mile times @ 2950-2980#

418 4.07 bore 4.00 stroke, 12.0 compression using -3cc pistions with 30 thou milled heads and a 40 thou head gasket runs 93 octane, makes about 53-550whp threw a ford nine. I also have issues with crank pressure, what kind of vacumme pump should I go with? are the eletric ones worth having and where should I connect it to the valve covers? or the valley cover.
