Default gm part # for standard oil filter pad?

I'm collecting parts for my LPP header install, since it has to be disable due to space issues I want to remove the oil cooler/filter pad and install the normal one like an old SBC would have anyone got a part # 4 that?

Summit has what looks like the original GM part for $19.00:

But they have a super duty billet adapter that I use at $38.95 (not thin cast like the GM one):

Thats a better deal from summit if it comes with the bolts i got mine from the dealership at 10% over cost for $30 and it did not include the bolts. That billet one does not have a bypass on it which many people do not recommend on a street car.

I'm not sure whether this applies to what you're asking, and I'm not sure whether this applies to every model year, but my '94 had an oil filter adapter, like the top photo in Paul Bell's post, incorporated into the oil cooler installation. I bought another filter adapter, thinking I would need one when removing the oil cooler, but that wasn't the case. The only thing necessary were the two bolts for the adapter, to replace two studs that are used in conjunction with the cooler.

It's possible the that the coolers were assembled differently. The design is certainly different on the 95's, and up. Did you try putting a socket over that pipe and onto that big "nut" to see if the adapater screws into the cooler? I had to do something similar. I did this last Christmas, and wish my memory were better.
