Well, good news is, you can still drive the car at night. JUst put them up with the manual crank until you figure out whats wrong. At least he can get to work ok.

You pull the round rubber boots with the long nipple on them, off. Then crank them up. Pop the hood and you'll see them. Just rotate them until the lights are all the way up. Then you will be able to turn them on and off normally.

Pics coming.

Just pull those rubber covers off and you will be able to crank them up.

Check all the fuses. Underhood and side of the door. They is a couple of modules that COULD go bad but I doubt it. Get back to us

the lights wont even come on at all. If they turned on i would gladly turn them up manually and leave them up. I will check everything again tomorrow. Being sick I may have missed something.

Thanks again

My sister-in-law's Isuzu SUV did that to her once, the headlights just quit working one day. Found there was a headlight relay under the hood that was shot. $20 for a relay that wasn't even stocked in store, so I took the relay apart and fixed it Not sure if these cars have anything like that or not but it is worth checking!

Chances are you just missed something. You cant really tell if a relay is bad, find the relay and switch it with a matching one from another location under the hood.

1. Fuse, Relays
2.Bad Switch
3. Bad module

You can't tell if the lights are on until they pop up to their full position.

No i can tell that they arent on. Im going to work on the car again today, and hook it up to the scan tool and see if it comes up with anything, then change a few relys and the modual and see if that does it.

Thanks again.

a scan tool isnt really gonna tell you anything--lights going out won't be saved in the PCM--like Joshie said

relay, fuses
switch
module
bad wire

testing a relay isnt hard, just connect the coils of the relay (which i think would be pins 86 and 87 i believe) to a power source-an you should hear it click--or do a continuity check across the coils with a multimeter-if the relay checks out then check your switch-an just go from there

Most of the underhood relays are the same type. Just take em out and replace with another you know that works.. IE fog lights etc. Easy way to diagnose!

Pretty much the same problem, anything? My headlights will pop up, brights will work, and fogs/DRL will work. Low beams don't work!! Before, every once in a while I would hear a crackling and the low-beams would shut off and the crackling would stop and a few seconds later the low-beams would turn on. I had no headlights all last night and drove around with my fogs! What gives?

There is a 50A headlight fuse in one of the fuse boxes. It is a large clear red plastic one. Try replacing that. I found if I pulled that the headlights would not pop up or turn on but everything else would work.

Still have the problem! No low beams!

Take apart your headlight motor/headlight harness. Clean with elec. cleaner and regrease... see what happens...

try jumping the ground wire on the harness to ground and see if the light comes on. If so then your ground is probably corroded and not making contact.

Doesn't apply to me but may apply to OP... I still think the OP's problem is the 50A headlight fuse or this reason below:

I'm still at a loss for my issue. It's a California car and all the grounds are good.

If you have no low beams then this might apply to you. Mine did the same. The connector had crud in it and wasnt making the connection. Everytime you squeezed the connector tightly it would kick them back on.

Just my .02
